West Wing - Chai and Stables
In this area of the complex there is an unmodernised chai totalling 675m2 (7,260 sq. ft.) plus the
original stables which is 170m2 (1,800 sq. ft.). The stables still have original cobbles and hay racks
and is currently used for storing tools, building/gardening equipment and wood.
Planning in principle has recently been obtained to develop a footprint of some 300m2 (3,200 sq.
ft.) into three cottages/apartments which could provide accommodation for as much as a further
600m2 over two floors. The planning application is in relation to the stables and part of the
adjoining chai.
